There once was a man named Roger. Roger was a Wall Street
man with a lot of potential, but then he cracked under the pressure. He
couldn't handle the pressure of stocks anymore, so turned to drugs. He started
off lightly drinking and smoking, but then he tried something new. His dealer
handed him a little plate with white powder on it, so Roger decided to ask
what it was, but he didn't get an answer. For some reason Rodger thought it
would be a good idea to try it. He assumed it would be cocaine, so he took the
rolled up one dollar bill and blew it. Then the dealer said sorry and walked
away. This really confused Roger, but he started feeling weird. Not how he
thought it would feel on cocaine. He felt like a zombie. He got home and sat on
his couch for hours. He didn't feel good or bad he just felt there. He stared
at his walls until he eventually fell asleep. The next morning he woke up
feeling normal again. That's when things changed. He started sweating like
crazy and shaking. His apartment was set at 60 degrees, so him being hot didn't
make sense to him. He tried to pour himself a drink, but he couldn't because he
was shaking so bad. He started to wonder what his dealer gave him. He grabbed
his laptop and started doing research. He looked up how he felt and his
currently felt. He tried everything he felt to look it up. Everything he looked
up came back with the same answer. Roger just didn't want to accept it. Roger
called his dealer and asked him what he gave him. Roger heard the one thing he
didn't want to hear. Heroin. Roger's life flashed before his eyes at this
point. He didn't know how to react. He only knew one thing. He needed more. He
told his dealer he wanted to meet. They met at the usual bench in the park and
they talked. Roger asked how much it was to get the same amount of stuff he
got from him the other day. Roger was surprised that it would only cost him 20
dollars for a decent amount. He told the dealer he only wanted to do it one
more time to get the need out of his system. The dealer didn't care because he
was making more money off of Roger than usual, so the dealer gave Roger a
little extra to try and get him hooked. Roger went home and did it. He didn't
inject it he broke in up and put it in a line and blew it again. Roger sat on
the couch and just started at the walls again. He realized he had to go to
work. He put the closest suit he could on and ran out the door. He jumped in a
taxi and told him to take him to the usual. Roger got to his office, and ran
upstairs to him office and sat down avoiding everyone he could. He had to
figure out what stocks looked better than others. The only problem is that he
could barely focus anymore. He sat in his chair just staring at his computer
screen very confused. That's when his boss walked in. He knew something has
been up with Roger the last few days, so he made Roger take a drug test.
Roger failed it and was fired on the spot. Roger got really depressed after
that and called up his dealer. He told his dealer he wanted to spend at least
1000 dollars on the stuff. Roger said after that he would quit. Unfortunately
Roger would never get it because when he got to the dealer, the only thing the
dealer could say was sorry, and 2 cop cars came rushing in. Roger didn’t want
to get caught by the cops so he ran. He stole his dealer’s car and floored it.
He got out of there as fast as he could. He was crossing a bridge and knew he
would never escape the cops, so he turned the car sharply to the right and
flipped off the bridge. Roger was never seen again.

Story 7 (704 words)
This story is going to be told through first person. I am
going to be the first person narrator because this is a true story. Here we go!
I was just sitting at home playing some Spiderman 2 on my
PlayStation 2. I was playing that even though I have an Xbox 360. It was the
summer of 2013, so the summer that just ended. It was around the time of the
Lancaster carnival. Back to the story. I was just sitting at my house when all
of a sudden I get a phone call. It was from thee Austin Hopcia. I was a little
puzzled as to why he was calling me, so I answered it. The conversation went a
little like this.
“Uh Hello.”
“Hey Jake Woj.”
“Who is this?”
“It’s Zelasko”
“Hey man.”
“You’re going to the carnival. Tell Joe.”
“Alright man..”
Then I went and told my mom what was going on and called
Joe. Hopcia picked me up with Zelasko and Cole. Then we went to Joe’s house and
picked him up. Then we started our adventure to the Lancaster carnival. On the
way there Zelasko put his hand out the window like a gun and pretended to shoot
at a car. It just so happened that the car was a cop. Hopcia was really nervous
at this point because he thought we were going to get pulled over, but we
didn’t. We decided to give a call to our good pal Matt Schaefer. He was at a
graduation party for someone he knew in Lancaster. We parked outside and we
were yelling his name until he came out. Then he dove in the suv and we went
the carnival. We walked around and played some I got it. We decided we had
enough of the game, so we decided to walk around and try to find someone we
knew. The next thing we knew our good pal Tom Reger came out of nowhere. We all
started talking and we walked over to this large group of kids. Then Tom’s
little brother came up to Tom and said that someone was making fun of him and
he was older than him, so we all followed Tom and he went to talk to the kid.
The only problem is he was younger than Tom, so the mean kid called his brother
complaining how Tom was being mean to him. It was just a whole lot of words
being said. Then the older brother came up to use and started dropping f bombs
and freaking out. Then he was saying lets fight at save a lot, but then Tom saw
the older brother and realized how big he was, so he didn’t want to fight, but
then something crazy happened. This guy that was with him took his shirt off
and started yelling who will fight me. Then Tom was pretty annoyed with this
kid at this point, so he agreed. If the dumb guy never would have taken his
shirt off and started yelling I bet that no one would have fought him. Then Tom
knocked the kid out in like three punches. The other kid started it, so
everyone was okay. We all bailed at that point. Hopcia, Zelasko, Cole, Joe, and
I all drove to drop Joe off at home, and after that we went and played some
basketball at Rufus Marx’s house. That was a weird time. We lost the game, so we
decided to go to get some Gatorade. The blue kind in the squirting bottle. The
only problem is we couldn’t find it anywhere, so we had to go to Tops and just
get it in regular bottles. That was a bummer. After that we went to McDonalds
to get some food, but instead of them giving us the two burgers we got a
quarter pounder burger patty. It was weird. They dropped me off at home shortly
after that, and I went to bed to think about how crazy of a night we had. Yes I
do still have the video.
The moral of the story is don’t be that guy to take his
shirt off and try to fight people. Someone eventually will.

Story 4 (600 words)
There was a band named Chasing Bridges. They finally had
their first show. The singer of the band was Justin Marie, the main guitarist
was Nate Lowmair, the bassist was Sean Masson, and the drummer was Brendan
Farley. The band all met during their freshman year. They all went to Lancaster
High School and they didn’t know they could all play different instruments and
had all the components of a band. Justin and Nate first started hanging out
when they were both assigned to do a project for health class. They had to
learn about what the other liked and disliked. At the same time Sean and
Brendan were doing the same thing. Nate found out that Justin really liked to
sing and play acoustic guitar, and Sean learned that Brendan liked to play the
drums. Justin found out that Nate could shred on a guitar, and Brendan learned
that Sean could play the bass like no other. During the next health class they
all did presentation about each other and learned that they could all play
different instruments. In health class their teacher brought up how they could
all start a band. That sounded like a good idea to them, so they all got
together during health class and they talked about how they practiced and where
they learned. Everyone besides Justin went to classes for it. Justin taught
himself how to sing and how to play guitar. This is how he escaped from
everything that was going on in his life. Justin was the one who thought about
making a legit band. They were throwing ideas around. One of the names they
thought of was “Fridays With Her.” The entire band didn’t think that that was a
good idea for the band. They threw that
name right out and came up with Chasing Bridges. Chasing Bridges was the very
first home town band that had a chance of going somewhere fast. They practiced
almost every day after school and sometimes during school they would go to the
band room and write songs and make chord progressions. This is where it all
began for them. The band came together and threw down all the money they could
and booked a place on their first gig. It was at a little place, but they had
to start somewhere. This was an important show for them because if they did great,
it would help future promoters look for them and book them. If they could make
a name for themselves then many doors would be opened that no one else would
have open. They were watching the other bands perform and they felt like they
weren’t as good as the other bands, but then they decided they would play the
best show ever. They got their set list together and headed for the stage. They
played 5 songs. The first song there was no one by the stage, but once they
started playing people started coming. By the time the last song was played
everyone was yelling encore. The only problem was the only other song they had
was only half written and it wasn’t practiced once. They decided they would
give them a little sneak peak, so they played about 20 seconds of the song and
everyone was dying for more, so the band realized their little project would
turn into something much bigger. They made a Facebook page and a twitter for
the band and it was looking very good for them, but that’s when the unthinkable
happened. Justin realized his full potential and left the band to try and go
for a better band. The only problem is the band wasn’t as committed as his
original band. Now Justin Marie works at Tops and doesn’t play or sing anymore.
