O1 O2 The writer

There was a writer named Jim Jones. Jim liked to write all different kinds of stories and books. He also had a few articles in his local school newspaper called the Dear Jim. Jim went to his local hobby shop to pick up a new notebook and some more pencils. There was a special deal on a red notebook, so he didn’t hesitate and picked it up. He also bought a pack of name brand writing pencils. They were “The Magic Pencil.” He loved the name, so he bought those too. He opened up all the packaging, and he disregarded the warnings. The warnings said not to write about your own home town or not to use names of people you knew. Since Jim didn’t know these rules he started to write a story about a man named Jim who became a millionaire from playing the lottery. Then all of a sudden he had the weirdest urge to play the lottery, so he picked up all the change he could find. If you don’t know much about an aspiring writer they are always hurting for money. He picked up his money and ran to the local store. He bought one lottery ticket. He could win up to 200 million dollars, so he was feeling pretty excited. He figured that if he won it would be able to start his writing career up. He got home and continued writing. He kept writing about Jim Jones. He wrote all about how Jim wanted to find that special someone, and that he was trying to find her for a very long time. Jim still didn’t know about the magical notebook and pencils. Jim started to write about his created character Jim Jones, and he wrote that Jim decided he wanted to take his money and change the world. He was unsure how, but he knew that’s what he wanted to do with his life. The real Jim Jones started to get tired, so he closed the notebook and went to bed. He woke up at around 7 o’clock and turned on the news to check his lottery ticket he bought. He wasn’t feeling too confident that he would win, but then next thing he knew all of his numbers came in. Jim started to flip out and he ran as fast as he could to the store where he bought the ticket and told them he won. There was a huge celebration for him, and they sent him to the bank and he was put on the news, and he told the story about how he randomly got a sudden urge to play the lottery. When he was telling the news about his story something came over him to tell them about how he wanted to change the world with his money. The next thing he knows he’s at home sitting on the couch. He didn’t remember the speech. The only thing he could remember is winning the money. That’s when it started to all make sense to him. He realized that whatever he wrote in that notebook came true. He realized he had all this power, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted it or what to do with it, so he ended his short story simply by saying that the character Jim Jones was now a millionaire who wanted to help people, but he wanted to leave it up to destiny, so after he wrote this everything seemed to go back to normal. Jim Jones didn’t have the will power to throw away the magic notebook and pencils, so he put them into a safety deposit box just in case he couldn’t overcome the temptation of altering destiny.
