Y2 Patty Kane

This blog is going to be about the everyday routine of one of the greatest hockey players ever. Patrick Kane. He started his life living out here in the cold. Buffalo New York. There was nothing that this man liked to do more than play hockey. Patty Kane was one of the best players to ever come from Buffalo New York. He has been one of the best players for the Chicago Blackhawks. Patty Kane knows one thing and one thing only and that's how to dangle snipe and celly. He also knows how to wheel, but that's beyond the point. This man takes hockey to the next level. His puck control is out of this world. He has incredible stick handling. He can make any goalie look like a fool. While typing this blog I had to go watch a video of Patty Kane dangling like crazy. Patty Kane makes breakaways always turn into a goal. He is also amazing when it comes to shootouts. He gets to go one on one against a goalie. He shows the crowd how hockey is suppose to be played. Every good thing has to come to an end right? Patrick Kane's number one supporter was his grandfather. His grandfather has recently passed which has definitely altered Patty Kane's game play. He hasn't been the same ever since that day. The next day he went out and scored a goal for his grandfather, but since then he hasn't been making as many plays, and he seems to be losing it. It's going to take some time for him to get back to where he was, and luckily he has the support of his team, and all the fans. He is by far my number one favorite hockey player. The only person to come close to Patty Kane is Danny All Star Heatly, but he's a different story for a different day.

Y1 Student life

My name is John Railway. I currently am in school. I'm a senior this year, so I'm living it up trying to make the best of my last year. I go out of my way to hangout with my friends, I don't focus on school too much anymore because I'm so close to being done and grades don't matter for anything I have to do anymore. I'm just going to graduate and start living my life. I don't worry about what anyone has to think of my decisions because I am my own person, so I'm just focusing on myself. I have a full ride to college, so I'm not focused on anything about school until I start college. I'm going to school to become an environmental scientist. I love the outdoors, so this was the best job I could think of. I get to help save the environment and hangout outside all day and get paid for it. That was my dream job right there. I have everything going for me right now, but I feel like something is going to ruin my plans. I plan on going out to buy a lottery ticket because it's my 18th birthday today. I don't know why I blog while I go out in public. I just got my lottery ticket and I'm heading home. I just got home so I'm going to turn on the TV. Woah. All my numbers just came on the TV. I'm holding one hundred million dollars in my hand. What am I going to do with all this money? I don't know what to do. How am I going to be able to keep this quiet? How am I going to focus on school now that I know I have all this money? I guess I won't have to worry about anything anymore. All I hear is someone saying my name, but i'm all alone? "Wake up." I woke up to my mom shaking me saying I'm going to be late for school. It was all a dream? I put my hand in my pocket and there was no lottery ticket in there.

X2 Gary

There was a man named Gary Goober. This man liked to make and listen to music. The only thing is he couldn't afford the turn tables he wanted. He loved music though. He had rhythm because he could play the drums really well the only problem is that his job at Tim Horton’s wouldn't pay for it. He knew this is what he wanted to do though. He decided he was going to do something crazy to get quick money. He thought about stealing it from people around his town. He thought this would work well because he didn't need that much all he needs is about two thousand. He was also thinking about robbing a bank, but he realized that it's not worth the risk. He didn't even need that much, but he thought of something while he was playing Grand Theft Auto 5. He decided he was going to steal a car. He went out and got in his car a nice little 2002 neon and went to drive around the city. He lived in NYC. The thing about living out here is it makes driving really hard. He couldn't go fast at all, so he started wondering how he would be able to pull this off. He found a car parked at the top of a parking garage, and that’s what he decided to take. He jumped in and floored it. He was lucky that the keys were inside of it. He drove the car home without anyone noticing. He parked the car in his garage and covered it up and called a buddy to take him to get his neon. They get to the car park and he gets in his neon and whips home. He looks inside his garage and the car was gone. The moral of the story is if you steal from someone expect to get stolen from.

Rodney Mullen X1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaERgoIsk4k

I'm going to start off with this because it was the craziest thing I've ever watched. If you don't know who Rodney Mullen is than you don't know anything about skateboarding. He is one of the biggest names there ever were involving skateboarding. He made tricks, he had incredible style, and he could do almost anything on his board. Nothing was ever too hard for Rodney Mullen to do. He could do anything on his skateboard. He has invented about 32 tricks. He could do anything he wanted to on his board. One trick he is very famous for is doing a handstand on his board and flipping the board and landing on it. He changed the game of skateboarding. It started off with freestyle skateboarding which was where skaters would spin around on their board, but never get it off the ground until Rodney Mullen figured out a way to do so. After this the freestyle skateboarding met the street world. The art of skateboarding didn't only on the streets it also made it to vert competitions. This wasn't one of Rodney Mullen’s talents, but he entered a competition and won it. Rodney Mullen won all of his competitions other than one. This dude was crazy. He would get on his board and do stuff that people couldn't even imagine. If you've ever skateboarded you would understand. For someone to think about moving their feet in the specific ways to do the tricks that he made up is weird. The way you do tricks is hard you have to move both feet at the same time. I couldn't even fathom to think about how he just came up with the idea to do the tricks the way he did. Rodney Mullen was the man when it came to skateboarding. He changed the sport and it’s getting bigger and better every passing day.

W1 W2 Chad Muska

For this blog I am going to take some time and give the respect that one of the most influential skateboarders deserves. I am talking about none other than Chad Muska. Chad Muska is your stereotypical rags to riches stories. His story is an amazing turn of events.  In Chad Muska’s part in the skate film “Fulfill the Dream” the rags to riches is shown. The very beginning of the part he is skating through an area that is hit with poverty and he was doing basic tricks like ollies, nollies, and 180’s. Then his music kicks in and he’s in the city doing bigger tricks with the nicer background. This could have been on accident, but I assume this was meant to be symbolism of him following his dreams. The funny thing about Chad Muska’s skating career is that he would bmx until one day his bike got stolen, and one of his neighbors hooked him up with a board. Chad Muska started to skate after that day which was poor timing. While Muska was first starting to skate everyone else was stopping. All the parks were closing and Muska was stuck to skating on the streets. This is what changed his career and skateboarding from then on out. Chad Muska’s mom’s boyfriend would tell him every day that his skateboarding career wouldn’t ever amount to everything. Muska caught a ride out to California with some friends and he started his life over from there. He had no money no job, and he just had to live with other people until he started skating and making money. He went from living with his friend and he had to sleep under his bed so his parents would find him. He would sleep anywhere he could even the beach sometimes. He said those were the happiest days of his life. He said “I never wanted to skate for money; I want to be a skater because I love this to death and it’s a dream.” Lucky for Muska he got money off of skating and he could move on from sleeping on the streets. Chad Muska changed the world with his skating. He got his first sponsor of Shorty’s which is who released the video Fulfill the dream. This is what made Chad Muska. He had nothing to do other than skate. It’s all that he could do, and it’s all that he loved. He felt passionate about it and he applied himself to skating. Chad Muska was one of the most influential skaters in the history of skateboarding. Personally I would have to say that Chad Muska influenced me personally. His style, his love for skating, and his personality just drove me to skating. After he left shorty’s and joined Element that’s when he really blew up. He was one of the greats. Chad Muska, Mike Vallely, and Bam Margera (Before Viva La Bam) were all the legends of that team. They were the best street skaters and they were the most hardcore dudes that were around for skating. There is nothing that they have ever done that wasn’t cool. They always were putting skateboarding before anything else, but Mike Vallely also liked to throw people around, but that’s a different story for a different time. The best example of that is the Muska incident. This was when street skating was starting to get knocked down by security. The Muska incident is when Chad Muska at a competition set up the ramp and tried to do a mega kickflip over the rail, but he bailed and simply said the “F-word” then all the security guards got around him and started to assault him, but Mike V. ran up and defended him. This showed how hardcore the guys were and how they were as a team. Chad Muska is known for what he is one of the most influential skaters ever.

V2 Skating dreams

There was once a man named Jimmy. Jimmy liked to skateboard in his spare time. Jimmy had a cheap little set up, but it was just fine for him. He got all his parts from the local shop around the corner from his house. Jimmy wasn't sure how good he was at skating because he was the only person who skated around him. This made it hard for him to get good because he never had anyone to push him so he could try harder. In the skating world this is one of the most common ways to get better. Skating with someone who is better than you would make you try harder to keep up with them. This is good and bad. It's good because you really focus on trying to learn new tricks and land all your old ones, but it's bad because sometimes it has the opposite effect. If someone is doing better than you sometimes it takes away all of your motivation to skate because you can't keep up with them. The most popular term for this in the skating world is “one upping.” You always have to try and one up your friend because you can never let them be better than you. It’s how it works with any sport or game, so skating is no different. Alright back to Jimmy. Jimmy kept on skating, but he wouldn’t get better because he didn’t have anyone to one up him. This made it really difficult for Jimmy to get better until one day a man named Chad Muska moved in nearby. Chad Muska is a professional skateboarder for the skate company Element. This was the inspiration that Jimmy needed. Jimmy would skate with Muska almost every day, and then Muska hooked Jimmy up with a spot at an Element demo and Jimmy got signed to the team. The moral of the story is knowing somebody is the easiest way to get somewhere.

V1 Dogtown

There were a few kids named Stacy, Tony, and Jay. These three were really good friends. They lived in California near Venice beach. These three really liked to surf. They would meet up at the dock and go surf. Then one day the local skate shop owner Skip called them up. They went to Skip's skate shop called Zephyr to see what he had to say. He told them about these new polyurethane wheels that he received and wanted them to try them out. The boys all put them on their skateboards and went out to skate. The way the new wheels were they could carve the pavement like they could carve the waves. This completely changed the way they could skate. This made Skip decide to make a new skate team to add to his surf team. Since they were skating for Zephyr skate team they decided to call themselves the Z-boys. The Z-boys went out and started winning competitions as a team, but shortly after they started getting big the boys wanted to get bigger and bigger. They all tried to get into the spot light, but there was only room for one of them, and there was a really big championship coming up. The boys thought that this would be the best thing to see who the best was. Halfway through the championship Tony got into a fight and was sent to the hospital and this halted his skating career. Stacy went on to win the championship. This was the turning point in his career. Stacy got the money and kept skating like the other two, but something else happened in his mind. He wanted to be the head of a company, so he went out and made one. Powell Peralta. If you know anything about the skateboarding world you would know this was basically a summery of the movie Lords of Dogtown. I highly recommend you watch this movie.

Thinking U1 U2

This blog is going to be a little different than usual. I’m going to use my words to describe my feelings about social media. I cannot stand the direction that social media is going. It seems like everything is starting to get too personal. Google and Facebook are guilty of this. The internet was made to make everything a lot easier, but it seems like it’s been used more for invading people’s privacy. If people had a better sense of what was going on than this would all probably stop. Nobody asks why this happens. Google started off very helpful, but it seems like they’re trying to control the world with all the companies they’re buying and how much they’ve been expanding. Google is definitely becoming a monopoly, and I believe it should be time for someone to step in and stop them. Google recently purchased YouTube. That’s also a very heavily populated website. Google is making money off the ads from the website. They are literally trying to take over the internet and smaller search engines like Bing don’t have a chance. They are almost the same thing, but Google has more users which brings in more money for them and they get to buy more online property to make even more money. Amazon started looking into robotics to deliver their packages which would make deliveries happen a lot faster and it would also make it more efficient because they wouldn’t have to send out trucks anymore because the electronic helicopters can deliver the packages instead of sending out the trucks. This I assume threated Google, so they went out and purchased 8 electronic companies the most prominent of them being Boston Dynamics. If you don’t know anything about Boston Dynamics I’ll explain what they make real quick. They make electronic moving animals basically. I recommend you look them up because my description isn’t doing them must justice. The thing with this is Google now owns them. Google can have them make anything for them. Why does Google need these companies? What are they trying to make with all of these electronic companies? They have no need to deliver anything with them. They could have picked up this company to make sure that Amazon wouldn’t. I just don’t understand why Google needs all this stuff. It doesn’t even matter to them. They pretty much just want to control everything. I got really sidetracked. Back to social media. It seems like no one can think for themselves anymore. Yesterday on Instgram there was a picture that went around regarding the privacy policy. Someone made a fake picture so they could get a lot of uses of their hashtag. It was so dumb. It seemed like I was the only one that actually checked my privacy policy. The picture that was used was not anywhere in the privacy policy. Social media works in magical ways because one person decides to do this, and then next thing you know you have something trending. About half of my followers put this picture up, and I proceeded to put up a picture about how dumb they look because they all used this fake picture. If everyone that seen this picture just actually checked their privacy policy the picture never would have been around. It was literally a waste of time because no one at all needed to put up this picture. Social media is destroying people’s free thinking because everyone decides to just follow the crowd. If people would either try to go against the crowd or only following the crowd when they know the real details life would be so much better.
